Advanced - most training schemes teach some form of advanced riding but what is it? Based on the police system of motorcycle control, advanced riding is aimed at improving safety and the enjoyment of bikes by mastering machine control and observation of traffic and road conditions. This is achieved by the methodical application of the advanced system. It sounds like a load of gobbledygook but actually works brilliantly and is great fun too.

The Dept for Transport through the DSA and in partnership with the Motorcycle Industry Association and Bikesafe have launched the Register of Post-test trainers and the Enhanced Rider Scheme.

If you have done a Bikesafe course and were advised to take further training or a test the Enhanced Rider Scheme is what they ment.

Enhanced Rider Scheme

We have instructors who are on the DSA Register of Post-test Motorcycle Trainers, this means we can deliver training under the Enhanced Rider Scheme. This entails an assessment of your riding, if no significant areas of weakness are found we issue a certificate to that effect which gives up to 20% discount on insurance from most of the major motorcycle insurers. If we identify areas that need improving we develop a training program to suit your individual needs and issue the certificate after you complete the training.

This is the most user friendly and cost effective post test training available. You are continually assessed by your instructor and don't have to undergo a stressful test by a third party examiner. The whole scheme is quality assured by the DSA. For more details visit this-link

The two other well known organizations that promote the advanced system are the IAM (Institute of Advanced Motorist) and RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) which operates under its RoADA (RoSPA Advanced Drivers Association) banner. We have instructors that hold RoSPA gold and Diploma qualifications, and so can train you for either of these advanced tests. It is generally accepted that RoADA have the most demanding test standard and that's not just because they have more and longer acronyms.

Born again/Back to biking - whatever you want to call it, if you haven’t ridden for sometime and want a gentle reintroduction to modern bikes this is for you. In groups of no more than 2 to 1 and using either our or your own bike we can build your confidence and show you what you’ve been missing all this time.

Whether you want to take an advanced test, improve your general riding or even just one part of your riding like cornering or overtaking we can help.

All advanced courses are individually tailored to the customer and so start with an assessment of your riding, and if there’s nothing to improve we will offer you a job.
